Because "dating" is nothing but a show of positive characteristics most often corrupt and false because to show ones imperfections wouldn't get a boy a pretty girl in most cases. Therefore, the boy or guy would almost always be tempted to show only the good side of his character.. and this is best suited for lesser beings (like dogs and chimps) rather than that of Homosapiens.
To say one loves a girl and vise-versa, both of them need to see the true self of each other (inside and out), this means - casual dating and limited cohabittation is not enough to tell surely that two people are indeed compatible and hence can really say that they love one another...
It takes more words to say this point, than to actually live this in real life.. :) Peaceout!
