Good question. True love differs greatly in comparison to lust and/ or infatuation. Love or true romantic love strictly requires that you KNOW each other FULLY and WELL-ROUNDEDLY (daily living, and stressful living both mentally and emotionally). Then it requires that you ACCEPT the person you love UNCONDITIONALLY inspite of his/ her other imperfections, or things you dont like. And lastly, is that you take his/ her interest even before yours (ie. unselfishly)- which is then called RESPECT.
This combined with COOPERATION, COHABITATION (living together emotionally and sexually), and true FRIENDSHIP = YOU ARE IN LOVE WITH A BEAUTIFUL LADY or GUY friend. --- I put emphasis on not using the term boy and girl because boys and girls denote immaturity and lack of self knowledge and understanding (such is inadequately addresses the prerequisites of true love)...
If any part is missing, this is called either infatuation, or hunger for sex or lust (ie. the boy merely wants to get under your [girls'] pants in more interesting ways thats possible or you have a girl who is manipulative and uses sex for something in return [in kind or something else])...
Know this and take this by mind and by heart and you are set to make less mistakes in choosing the right guy or girl to be your partner in one or several chapters of your life. :)
