What's your view of Religion in this Time?
Religion is old school, its original purpose is to recognize and give thanks to natures' bounty (the food that nature provides man) ie. crops, and animal meat. During this time, people recognized the Sun (the energy that gives light and life), water (the water that cultivates plants), and the Earth (soil that allo seeds to germinate)... so with the absence of any diety or man-like gods, the people instead worshiped nature.. and they were called Pagans. As ages evolved.. people who realized the power religious people gave to their supposed god, they realized this would give them more power for political gains.. and this is modern day religion in several flavors... but the question is: How does claims of religions compare to what's written in history? Why do great libraries of antiquities get burned during wars? Why erase or never bother about history? Are there some who deliberately hiding things and historical facts from the minds of future generations? Where did the name of Jesus ever come out of the history books beyond claims of religious scholars? To date - there has been no standing proof that someone by such name ever was born and walked the planet some 30BC long before the founding of Christianity by the emperor of Rome - Emperor Constantine who put together the tennets of Catholicism... Therefore - who can argue that religion serves no better purpose than to divide humanity and make them borgs! peaceout!

i agree that religion is not fallible. it is flawed and misused. just like any instution that declares a certain purpose. visavis you can argue that a school is only meant to corrupt minds and only profit motivated depending aside from the real motive of education. nothing created by man is perfect. man is defined by his imperfections. and so do anything that he creates.
ReplyDeletemy opinion is that every thing you mentioned here exists and trivial. man has endured it for centuries. this is why we are always in a quest to perfect it.. whether by worshipping stones or creating gods. having an open mind - i only agree to jesus in the new testament - you will realize that those are not the words of man. people such as gandhi and mother teresa have only come close to his teachings. in fact some of his ideas are up until today very revolutionary and radical that we can't even live up to his teachings. i believe it will be the same to the other great teachers - mohammed for one.
we certainly can live without religion but i believe everyone needs a spiritual foundation in order to aim for perfection - something which an individual alone cannot dictate. there is always someone or something greater and more perfect than man and society in general.
I agree my good friend, I truly believe in Spirituality, but not of any Religion... God bless! :)
